Stardew Valley

Energy can be a major limiter early on but after a bit of progression it becomes basically a non-issue. Using most tools consumes energy, but swinging your scythe does not. Eating food restores your energy.

Amazon and WB in talks for LotR series

This doesn't interest me all that much. It could be good, but I'm not sure how much of Tolkien lore really will adapt well for television, especially if they wouldn't just be doing a longer form version of the Lord of the Rings books, which the movies already did a decent job of. I think there are m...

Ah, yeah, I figured that the "1200 subs" bit was a joke but I forgot that Steam even had a livestreaming feature so I figured you might have a channel on Twitch that only your friends ever visit. :)

What's your Twitch channel, Tyler?

And I imagine Stardew Valley should run on any PC built in the last several years. Any modern integrated graphics should be able to allocate at least a gigabyte or two of memory.

Halt and Catch Fire on AMC

I started watching this show as it aired but got frustrated with it around the 4 or 5 episode mark and stopped watching. Some time after the second season aired I'd heard that it improved a lot though so I gave it another shot, and I really enjoyed it. The last few episodes of the series got me more...

Re: Fargo, I suppose that's true. I'm not sure what would fill that vacancy then. Probably Bojack Horseman, or The Expanse.

Mr. Robot (USA)

I am. The second season was a bit uneven and weaker than the first overall (in my opinion) but it was still mostly a pleasure to watch. I appreciated how they depicted the aftermath of the events of season one in a fairly low key and believable way.

Out of curiosity, did you ever buy that D'Angelo killed Deidre?

The Wire - s01e13 - Sentencing

The parole board will have people like Rhonda and others reminding them that Avon was the kingpin and that a cop was shot while investigating him, so he should have a somewhat rougher time getting out early as compared to someone with a similar rap sheet. Of course with the likes of Avon (and Levy) ...

Did you catch how at the end of the last episode Wallace and Poot were on the wire arranging Wallace's return to Baltimore? Prez didn't either -- in fact he marked the call non-pertinent, repeating the very first mistake he made and was lectured on when the wire first went live. Prez has learned som...

Santangelo, yeah, and he was a pretty half-hearted snitch at that. McNulty complained at one point about how Santy was always in the wind and he'd cover for him with Daniels... Santy was likely deliberately avoiding McNulty so he wouldn't have anything to give to Rawls. On the other hand, slipping t...

This show is one my current favorites, and I'm not usually too big on comedies. Highly recommended unless you can't tolerate raunchy stuff.

Small correction, it wasn't McNulty who called Cheryl Kima's "roommate," it was Daniels. (After Carver referred to her as "Kima's girl.") Also, my read on that earlier scene where McNulty shows up at Kima's apartment wasn't that he was looking to get laid, at least not primarily....

Nintendo Switch

I have no plans on getting the Switch either. At this point I pretty much resent Nintendo as a company. They make some great games, but their games would be even better if they were released for the PS4 or PC. I got Breath of the Wild for the Wii U and the frame drops are just atrocious, and my unde...

Horror movies

Horror doesn't particularly appeal to me either. In fact I don't think I can recall a single true horror film that I liked. Cabin in the Woods would probably be the closest thing. Maybe something with striking imagery and cinematography like The Shining, which I haven't watched as an adult. To me, h...

Favorite Shows of All Time

My perennial favorites, shows I've watched all the way through more than once and probably will do so again: The Wire Deadwood Rome (the HBO series) Firefly Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (Well, I probably will never do a full re-viewing of this series.) Honorable mentions for that section would be Comm...
