That's probably a better way of putting it. He's kind of like the mastermind behind everything so far, so it wouldn't surprise me if he ends up on top.

Theory related to this old episode that I wanted to share.
Someone burned all the ships in Meereen. It is suspected that the Sons of the Harpy did this, but why? SoH want Dany out of their city, burning the ships only delays this. When Tyrion was making the 7 years a slave deal with the Slavers one of them made a comment that they wish Dany could take their ships and leave for good. The slavers also claimed not to be funding SoH. That means they really aren't funding them, or they and SoH didn't have anything to do with burning the ships.
Who has the most to gain by burning the ships? The new Salt Throne King who wants to sail to Dany and offer his entire fleet and caulk to her. Did he organize the burning of her ships so he could sail in and offer something that she needed, giving him bargaining power? Are his niece and Theon sailing to Essos now that they have stolen the Iron Island's fleet?

Interesting theory, and we know that Euron has been sailing all over the world so it would definitely be possible that he was there to burn the fleet.
Also, I laugh every time I hear/read the word "caulk".
