Game of Thrones Final Seasons Will Be Shorter, a Director Confirms

"I think we're down to our final 13 episodes after this season. We're heading into the final lap," David Benioff told Variety at the time. "That's the guess, though nothing is yet set in stone, but that's what we're looking at."

I wish they could hammer out a 13 episode season next year instead of doing 6/7 or 7/6 split across 2 years.

It'll be 13 seasons of one episode each.

And MAYBE George RR Martin will have the next book out by the time the show is over

Does it even matter at this point? I know you guys want to read it ASAP, but since the show has officially passed the books I bet he feels like the pressure is off and he can take even more of his sweet time.

I've never been super antsy about it to get ahead of the show. I didn't even read them until after I started watching the show in the first place. I would just like for him to finish the story before he dies of old age and/or heart disease.

I mainly want to read it so I can say that I finished a book series. Also, I'm eager to find out what happens in the actual story, and not the Cliff notes TV version.

You are both better than all of us because you know the books. But is Wags better than Salvo because Salvo did the audio books?
