Is it explicitly called out in the book that the guy is The Hound or is it just hinted? Did book readers know 100% for sure that The Hound was alive?

Theon's uncle's plan was to take the ships and woo Danny into a partnership. It was established this episode that Theon's sister likes girls. Are they setting something up where she will try the exact same plan as her uncle and try to romance Danny into a deal?

I don't remember anything being said about the hound in the books since he supposedly died. Maybe I'm forgetting something?

There was just a theory that there was a gravedigger that fit the description of the hound. I can't remember the exact words, but Brienne encountered him when she was in Saltpans talking to that Septon.

Thanks Salvo, that's basically what this said

My podcast host who has read the books took those lines as definite proof The Hound was alive. He said the book was trying to show the Hound was live in a more artsy way, whereas the show just flat out showed it because you can't get away with something like that in a visual medium.

Maybe the hound was the faceless one that the waif stabbed, but the waif was actually the guy also under masks.

Maybe Arya, The Waif, and the Faceless man are all time traveling versions of Arya. Like that whole bartender paradox.

This bartender paradox is like the plot to Predestination, almost exactly. This movie sucked btw.

The film is based on the short story "All You Zombies" which probably the origin of the bartender paradox.

Interesting theory that the Arya we saw get stabbed was actually Jaq'en wearing an Arya face. It's in this really long video. https://youtu.be/6lsOmZvdCeg
