Silicon Valley
Silicon Valley
Just watched the pilot. I liked it. I for sure liked it more than Jocelyn because I know the IT world is 95% buzzwords and they had so many in the show that made no sense.
Re: Silicon Valley
One of my roommates watches this and likes it. I've seen bits and pieces and it looks pretty funny.

Have either of you seen the IT Crowd?

I know of it and I've seen a couple episodes. I don't know if British humor is for me. The laugh track was the biggest turn off though

You just got to trudge through the first few episodes. I didn't like it until I was a few episodes deep.
Re: Silicon Valley
They talked so much about scrum this episode. This is so close to how my work is. It's hilarious. We even have a board like this, only 10x bigger

Re: Silicon Valley
Not sure if they have. I'm on seven right now
Re: Silicon Valley
I just checked, it's 8 episodes and the last one aired last week.

Yeah I was sad it was only 8, also that the actor who played Peter Gregory died after episode 5. I'm curious how they will resolve that since they just left him in the show without showing him.
Re: Silicon Valley
Finished this tonight. I thought the show got better as the season progressed.
The stroking joke that went on forever was so hilarious in the last episode. Best joke of the season and it helped solve all their problems.
I have a little problem with the guy completing redoing and optimizing the engine in one night, but it was fun. Now we get to see a whole other season of them building a business around a single idea.

Re: Silicon Valley
Last episode was awesome. No way that dude would score his wife though
Re: Silicon Valley
But he's so charismatic!
Re: Silicon Valley
The actor who played Peter Gregory died of lung cancer during filming of the 5th episode. I didn't even realize he wasn't in the last few episodes but now I recall it was all his assistant communicating for him through phone calls.
It will be interesting how they handle this next season. That's really sad because I thought his character was hilarious.

Re: Silicon Valley
Found this tidbit on an article. Hilarious (http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/06/12/silic ... fficiency/)
And believe it or not, you can learn much more about this gratifying process. Judge has tweeted a link to “Optimal Tip-to-Tip Efficiency: a model for male audience stimulation,” a 12-page academic paper in which Vinith Misra — a Stanford University graduate student in electrical engineering and one of the show’s technical consultants — details the most efficient way to sexually satisfy an auditorium full of men, all the way back through the cheap seats. (Misra is a student of Stanford Professor Tsachy Weissman, who also serves as a technical consultant, hence the show’s coining of the term “Weissman score.”) “Written” by Dinesh and Gilfoyle, Misra’s paper teems with hardcore math jargon delivered in a perfectly clinical tone. For example: “Every jerk action performed by the presenter transfers a quantity of gratification S(fs)T(ft) ∈ [0,1] to the audience member, where S (f) is the spatial gratification function and T (f) the temporal gratification function.” Good thing you paid attention in class, or that last sentence would totally fry your brain.
