I completely agree cwilkins. This was probably the only episode yet to disappoint me.

So 1) The idea that this giant technological giant of a porn company gets its data completely deleted from an external laptop? Okay..fine, but no backups? 0% chance of that

2) All this data was deleted through FTP? The other company would've just given them read access to take the data, not write access permissions to their folder

3) If they were worried about being breached...why not use a drive? It's not like they aren't in the same town.

I thought the same thing. I guess you could argue #2 that they needed read access to compress all of the files?

Bu there is no reason they wouldn't have been given dummy data or that a backup would have been made. I also got frustrated with Richard talking to the "hacker" over and over again and pushing his buttons without realize. Least favorite of the season for sure

Someone always has to be an idiot. They were about to beat Hooli and Erlich just had to mention the 3 days at the shop. Gosh dang it!

Ending was really funny. Had some errors to it still, but was at least a good resolution. I don't understand how the board seating worked. Are they forcing the nicer girl from the people who bought them out to vote in their favor? Otherwise, they still have 3 seats vs two.

I think Monica will always vote with verviga (sp?) Unless they go crazy. I like how this season focuses on a lot of the core business aspects rather than all tech.

Agreed. Everything is always so fragile. I liked the bit with the lemon.

Was one of the seats Monica's? I just assumed the business she worked for had 2 seats in general and now they have 3. I guess the 3 people in that office are the 3 people with the seats? You would think Monica would have voted against it?

So Richard won the court case because Hooli had a non-compete clause and that is illegal in California?

He won because the contract essentially eliminated former hooli employees from having a job in general it wasn't a non compete.

And Monica is not a board member but one of the seats was her companies which she often sat in for after the former head died. After they purchased the other guy out they now had three seats which could be filled by anyone they chose. Hence why they could just hold the emergency meeting without even informing Richard.

Yes, I thought the seat belonged to Monica and not the company, so I was confused.

I'm more excited about this returning next week than Game of Thrones.

Good season opener. We knew he couldnt leave his company like that. I hope the CEO is a good guy and it's not just a front he is putting on.

Explain the Hooli thing to me. Evie is talking during that. They are firing 1/5 people because the severance they pay out is cheaper than the stock they get back? Was does the non compete have to do with this?

I like this attention to detail because I'm a nerd

'Silicon Valley' made a lot of changes to its opening for the new season
