American Gods
TLDR: Neil Gaiman’s American Gods is being adapted into a television series by Starz, the premium US cable network announced on Tuesday.

The show will be done by Bryan Fuller, who did Hannibal. This show is going to be amazing.

Why Adapting Neil Gaiman’s American Gods for TV Is a Bad Idea

But really, what is the premise of this book..series of books?

Re: American Gods
Basically, the idea behind the book is that old gods are around and disappearing. Essentially, if you believed something was a god, then it was, purely because a lot of people believed in it enough.
With new technology, old gods die. The old gods want to fight the new gods, which is being instigated by one of the characters.

He looks how I pictured Mr Wednesday, but I am always concerned about converting great books to another medium. I feel like there is a loss of imagination in the best cases and ruins the book in the worst cases.

Mr. Wednesday is The Hound's buddy from a couple episodes ago in GoT.
I won't watch this show unless I hear it is amazing, even for people who haven't read the source material.

This show is really fun. You can tell it kind of has the 'Starz' flavor to it, by some of the action scenes with blood, but it's not always like that.
Mr. Wednesday is perfectly cast and I could listen to that character talk all day long. He is phenomenal, and his dialogue is perfect.
You are already starting to get the glimpses of the old and the new gods, with the old gods trying to become relevant again. (And the new gods worrying about it).
Also, that was a pretty weird sex scene.
