The 100

Postby Corey » Mon Nov 03, 2014 12:15 pm

Anyone ever seen/heard of this? It is on the CW. There has been one season and a second that just started airing a couple weeks ago. I watched 5 episodes yesterday and I really like it so far.

Set 97 years after a nuclear war has destroyed civilization, when a spaceship housing humanity's lone survivors sends 100 juvenile delinquents back to Earth in hopes of possibly re-populating the planet.

Corey once made fun of Meg for watching a show in the high 7's on IMDB. This is a 7.5 on IMDB.
I see ads for it all the time while watching Arrow and The Flash. Reminds me a lot of The Hunger Games.

Crkrjack also just started watching it on Netflix, I am guessing it was just added on there since season 2 started a couple weeks ago.

I've seen it! I have seen the episodes from S2 already as well.

It's a pretty good show, imo. It's a mix of Battlestar Galactica and Lost (there's even a love triangle!) with teen drama thrown in.

I'll probably keep watching it. Season 2 is setting up to be just as interesting as S1.

I was going to make a new thread, but apparently there already is one, but I'm not going to edit what I already wrote, so deal with it!

So this show...doesn't suck. I have no idea what network it's on, but the first season is on Netflix, with new episodes coming out for season 2.

Basically, the premise is that dumb humans bombed the earth and made it unsurvivable. So they all go on a space station and wait, with the intention of waiting 200 years before coming back to earth, when the fallout has subsided. However, about 96 years in, the life support system which provides air for everyone (apparently air is good) is failing, and they only have 3 months to live.

Because population is hard to maintain on such a restricted space, any crime is a capital punishment, unless you are under 18, who are just sent to prison. So the 100 18 year olds in the prison, are sent to earth instead of executed in an effort to extend the life on the space station, and if it wasn't toxic, come to earth early and survive there.

Their dropship crashes and burns all communication (shocker), and then a bunch of hormone induced teenagers are basically wandering around acting like assholes for a bit. Then they are murderous assholes, and eventually smarter assholes. Then some other people are there and some stuff happens.

Keep in mind that the first episode is just...the worst. Its okay, but the acting is forced and the cheesiness is at all time highs. But it gets better and more emotional, and I have to admit that the 5th episode legitimately brought me to tears (due to my dad PMS. Its a thing).

Go watch it.

Do they keep some kind of tally for when one of the 100 dies? How many are left after season 1?

Right?!?! What a hypocrite. Corey made me watch the first :30 of each episode where it recapped the previous episode for the first season so I didn't really get a good idea of what was happening. I didn't get into it thru that strategy so I wouldn't recommend starting a show that way haha

This pilot has more lens flair than a JJ Abrams movie. The space scenes are terrible. This pilot is also not good

I looked last night to see how many episodes were in season 1. If it was 22ish like normal CW shows I was going to stop watching, since it's only 11 I will stick with it...maybe....

Like we said, the first few episodes were a bit brutal. It gets pretty good though. All the new epsiodes are averaging over a 9.0 rating on IMDB.

Watched episode 5 last night, by far the best episode so far. Was actually emotional when the people on the Ark gave up their lives to save the others and that the people on earth couldn't get their message out in time.

I had a really lazy day today and watched 4 episodes. About to make it 5 with the season 1 finale. Raven is annoying. Their love triangle thing is so dumb, but exists because it's a CW show.

Sometimes the characters are really stupid and make me mad. Such as Jasper shooting and starting a war. Have to remind myself these kids are suppose to be like 16-18

Is Clark's mom really dead? The space story was getting interesting but they kind of ended that it seems. finale will probably help

Finished season 1. I'm guessing Finn and other dude are alive, because duh. Am I suppose to be shocked by her waking up in a hospital room? That's one of the most overused things in Hollywood.
