A lot of super power sexorz. Like 5 times.
Trish almost got killed.
JJ betrayed her drugged out neighbor.
JJ and Kilgrave had a real intense interaction.
Lawyer did a strategic play with Hope on the radio that JJ didn't like
Oh. And Kilgrave has tons of spies taking pics of JJ
And. And. Learned JJ killed Lukes lover

I figured the cop who tried killing Trish would have a bigger role. He gave her the gun and helped JJ
JJ and biatch lawyer found other people Kilgrave controlled.
An unnecessary subplot took up most of the episode. The only point it served was to remind us that this is happening in a post Avengers world.
Drugged out neighbor is for sure going to have a big surprise role. Good or bad.
Ritter is also really growing on me as an actress. She's good stuff.

And....2 mins after posting this its revealed the neighbor is taking the pictures. Jocelyn predicted that last episode. She gets the credit.

I like Ritter now...hated her still from Breaking Bad.

And stay tuned for the cop, he has a recurrent role

A lot of back story in this one. See when JJ first saves someone and tries to be a super hero. See when Kilgrave meets her and gains his interest
Their plan to take him almost worked. I knew something would go wrong. I liked that they were just hired body guards and not mind controlled.
Hope is not having a pleasant time in prison.

Found out Hope is pregnant and took an abortion pill. The lawyer wants to save the dead fetus. (Remember this is a Disney show)
JJ finally told Luke the truth. Found out his wife was more than just a victim, she had something Kilgrave wanted.
Kilgrave bought JJs childhood home. Awesome end shot with the street signs.

As is every thread ever. I've said it before, you should know clicking into a thread there will be spoilers. CPT is a site to discuss tv and movies, that's not fun unless you can talk about everything.

Just started. Ruben Sandwich dead in JJs bed was pretty dark.
And then she plops the head on the officer's desk. Dang.
Omg the police station scene with Kilgrave confusing his love for her. I was worried for all of those cops.
JJ and Kilgrave are going to play house

Episode 7 was a great turning point for the season. The police station scene really created a huge sense of urgency

You're right, big turning point.

I don't know if I should fear or pity Kilgrave. I almost felt bad for him when he explained he can never tell if people are doing things because they want to or because he was controlling them without realizing it. We also get a glimpse of his childhood. He seems to actually care for JJ and it is interesting to watch him try to win her over without forcing her, but at the same time he is torturing the help. JJ and Kilgrave teaming up was interesting, but I knew it couldn't work out that way for the rest of the season.

Things ended with the neighbor blowing herself up and the cop appearing dead or close to it. Not sure what JJ's plan is for taking Kilgrave. Their whole dynamic in the house together was so strange. Kilgrave actually made me laugh a few times. I told Jocelyn during the episode he needs to do more evil things because I am starting to like him.

Yep kind of the whole point of that episode is to see his perspective of life. You're in the final stretch where it's going to get very intense!

Kilgrave was locked up. Thought for sure the laywer was going to do something dumb and let him out so she could use his powers on her ex.
They did a good job of you feeling bad for Kilgrave as he got the crap beat out of him by JJ.
Met Kilgrave's parents and how he got his powers. Also that "Kevin" was a crazy child and tortured his parents.
The lawywer was going to let him out!
Oh. My. God. The scissors and him breaking out! Back to thinking he is evil.
JJ realized she isn't under his power anymore for whatever reason.

Cop has gone completely rogue. Must be from the red pills. Some kind of super soldier pill? Yes.
Wow. Death from 1,000 cuts and then the bimbo killed Wendy
Crazy neighbor girl starting a lynch mob.
What the hell Hope. Wow. Graphic.
I don't understand why JJ didn't just kill him in the restaurant. I knew those people would end up hanging themselves and she would have time to save them. She could have just killed Kilgrave and still had time to deal with the nooses.

Going to try and finish this tonight.

Sampson is straight up bad. High on red pills and trying to kill JJ. Trish took a red pill to take him out.
Kilgrave still on the loose. Don't think he was in the episode at all.
Crazy neighbor lied for JJ
Like Cage didn't get exploded

The Asain businessman with the garden sheers was extremely graphic.
Oh no. Luke Cage has been controlled this whole time!
Not a single wall in the Marvel universe is built with studs.
Luke Cage was shot in the head. He'll be fine I'm sure

Luke Cage was being controlled the whole time!
Night Nurse finally showed up. Daredevil nods.
Kilgrave can control people over speakers now. How can he do this if they established his powers are actually an airborne virus?
Good ol' needle straight into the eyeball.
This show is so dark. Cutting the dad limb by limb and putting him down the garbage disposal. And he was still alive!
I always wonder why people didn't wear noise cancelling headphones around Kilgrave. Took until the finale for someone to think the same thing.
JJ did it! She snapped his neck.

I lurrrrrved Jessica Jones. On the balance I thought it was a skosh better than Daredevil. I like the characters more in JJ and the villain is (somehow) every bit as good if not better.

Oh, and the fact that it is a super hero show with some actual SUPER POWERS doesn't hurt either.

Just finished downloading Taptalk! I may have life on this board yet!!!

I thought Kingpin was one of MCU's best villains, but Kilgrave is so much better. Kingpin is your typical villain arc...troubled individual wants power of a city. Kilgrave is so much darker...troubled individual wants power of just one individual, but will destroy people in the process. Kingpin smashing that guy's head in the door was so gritty and terrifying; Kilgrave had like 5 of those moments.

I am interested to see what happens for season 2 of JJ. I think this season was so great because of the personal story between Kilgrave and JJ. I guess next season they will try repeating that with how she got her powers and this mysterious super soldier organization?

Daredevil wins over action, but JJ wins in story. Daredevil did use the setting of Hell's Kitchen better, I will also give them that.

Lastly, glad to see you figured out the app!

I agree on everything, Tyler. I will say that there were two majorly awesome action sequences in JJ:

1. When they fought like eight guys while trying to run away with Kilgrave. That fight felt like it was lifted directly out of the best Daredevil scenes.
2. The Jessica / Luke Cage throwdown near the end. Holy cow, that was a tremendous duel. Loved all the property damage and the shotgun finale.

Guess I should ask: Where do we stand on spoilers on this board? I've only seen like four shows all the way through but I'd hate to unduly spoil any of them for people.
