Walton Goggins has been cast in History’s miniseries “Six,” Variety has learned. Goggins steps into the lead role left open by the recent departure of actor Joe Manganiello from the project due to an undisclosed health issue.

Produced by The Weinstein Company and A+E Studios, “Six” is an eight-episode miniseries that tells the story of Navy SEAL Team Six, the elite squad responsible for the killing of Osama bin Laden. Goggins will play Rip Taggart, the former SEAL Team Six leader who now patrols an African village to protect its residents from the terrorist group Boko Haram.

As much as I like Goggins, he is no Joe Manganiello in physical size. Interesting choice.

Did anyone watch season 1? I heard it was 33% military stuff and 66% of soldiers coming back home and adjusting with family.

Munn should be doing movies...not a History Channel mini-series, right?
