I didn't see that part! Either way it's easier for me to watch one episode at a time.

So, I liked this show, but it was probably a C or a C+ for me.

Why I liked it:
The show had a strong character and a good (sorta) origins story. The tie-in with claire was great, and the detective made the show for me. She was the only person who wasn't playing because of the way she 'felt', and instead went by evidence, which is how it should be done, even though the show portrayed her differently.

I also liked Stokes. I loved his demeanor and professionalism, even if he was running drugs and guns.

Why I hated it:
Unfortunately, this is a longer list. Mariah was stupid, all around. People just gave her stuff, gave her power, and she had no idea what to do, except how to give a crappy speech occasionally.

Shades was an idiot. At no point, was he even remotely dangerous. They made his personality put off that he was this huge badass, but to be frank, he was a little bit of a bitch.

Physics: This one bothered me. If this was across seasons, I wouldn't mind. In one scene, they show him jump out of a window, and the asphalt below him cracks. You may be strong, but weighing 250 pounds doesn't crack asphalt, or we couldn't like...drive on it. This wouldn't have bothered me as much, if they didn't show him falling out a window a few episodes later, and it DIDNT crack the asphalt.

Other consistency issues: There were several scenes where you could tell that the cups they were drinking out of were empty. There was a scene where Mariah was drinking wine, but the bottle she poured from was still corked. It's just annoying more than anything.

Haha. Way to ruin the series for me.

I was going to defend the show by saying someone who weighs 250lb jumping out of a window would impact the road a lot harder than a car driving on it, but then you said he lands on it later and nothing happens.

Ugh, the dialogue.

Claire was a sassy, take no shit, nurse from JJ and DD. In Luke Cage, she suddenly turns to spoon fed dialogue. Her character was still good, but it took a huge dive.

The coffee jokes got old too.

Nope. It's not any news here, but I have super hero tv show fatigue. I will continue to see every new Marvel movie in theaters, but I won't be making time to watch super hero shows at home

Who finished season 2 over the weekend? Way better than season 1 IMO

Bushmaster is an interesting villain. He feels like a genuine threat to Harlem and his reasons for being antagonistic are well done. Minor things about him like his "Usain Bolt" grievance with Cage, and interest in sports make him kind of funny and relatable.

Luke Cage S2 is so much better than the first 1 (at least the second half of the first one). If you get over all the weird Mariah/Shades gross PDA, it's really good. Acting is a lot better, and the story does feel real.

Bushmaster is awesome. However, with all the Jamaicans, sometimes we have to rewind a few seconds, because their accents are so thick, we have no idea what they are saying.

The music is this is great. The Paradise club gives a great way to put up artists and have it make sense.
