Big Little Lies: An HBO Limited Series

Postby Erin » Mon Feb 06, 2017 9:50 am

I love the author, Liane Moriarty, and a friend recommended this book. As I got into the story I realized this was the HBO series I saw a trailer for but didn't grasp the storyline. The book is awesome and the first one in a while I never wanted to put down. It's written in chapters following a timeline and cliffhangers that would make sense for episodes. I'm curious how closely they will follow the book!

First episode date: February 19, 2017

Should we all watch this and talk about it?! I'll watch anything done by HBO so I'm in.

Fun fact: everybody in this show just gets more attractive as they age. Nicole Kidman, Reese withoutherspoon, but especially Alexander skarsgard

...Adam Scott

We also watched this tonight. First episode had enough of a hook to get me watching more. Who do you think is murdered?!

I like to think Shailene Woodley is playing the older version of her character in The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Didn't she have a kid at like 14 in year show? That is the only reasonable why she could have a kid old enough for 1st grade in this show.

I'm only a couple minutes in, but I had trouble believing that, but then I remember that I look 20. Also, Janelle watched that whole show and I hated it

Next episode is on Friday because of the Oscars on Sunday

Also, kind of a spoiler, but not really...

Are we suppose to think that Ziggy is crazy because he sleep walks? Did he choke that girl or not?! Would be weird for the girl to blame the wrong kid and even stranger that no one saw it.

Yeah it was a good intro. I took the scene where Ziggy woke Jane up as highlighting Jane's anxiety. I didn't notice he was sleep walking.

It's fun to know what happens and see how the story is adapted. Especially when the person watching with you doesn't know but keeps asking...muahaha

I think the mom said "you were sleep walking again"
