A Toronto psychiatrist weighs in on what’s wrong with Netflix show 13 Reasons Why
This show not only portrays suicide as a valid, logical option, but it shows suicide as a highly effective way to get even with people who’ve hurt you.

I forgot this was a thing. I'll watch if Jocelyn wants to. I liked s01 enough, but I dont need to see a sequel.

I thought season 1 looked dumb and never watched.

It's in my queue of shows to watch. I want to finish at least season 6 of Buffy before I start anything else.

Clay is such r/niceguys material. This show is so stupid.

Just in the room while kathryn is watching it. I don't think she has watched 5 seconds without being on her phone.

It was not good. Really stupid. Terrible ending. Probably won’t watch season 3.

Spoil away. I'll never watch so I don't care and others who might watch can read this warning.Kath525 wrote:Tyler wrote:I will make zero effort to watch s02. Thanks for taking one for the teamKath525 wrote:It was not good. Really stupid. Terrible ending. Probably won’t watch season 3.

Nothing about this season was good.
1. Clay is constantly “talking” to Hannah and seeing Hannah and it’s so stupid. Like is he crazy? Is yes, let’s talk about it. If no, stop doing this.
2. Clay and Skye are dating and it serves no purpose at all. She has an unidentified incident by like episode 4 and gets hospitalized and in episode 9 or something he visits her at a facility where she tells him she is bipolar and the breaks up with him. Honestly, I was rooting for them, but the whole story was pointless.
3. The entire season is basically about the trial between Hannah’s parents and the school. Spoiler : the school wins. Which is fine if the next point didn’t happen.
4. Jessica doesn’t mention Bryce raping her in her testimony at Hannah’s trial but at some point she reports it to the police and she is in trial against Bryce. Bryce does not get sent to jail. Hannah’s parents AND Jessica loosing their trials both is too much. Someone has to win right? Anyway after Hannah’s trial didn’t win it really seemed like Jessica’s trial winning would be the silver lining.
5. Justin is apparently on heroin. Gets clean. Seems like his life is on the up then. And then you see him doing heroin again ????? Honestly everyone loses.
6. Season one finale and literally every episode of season 2 set you up to expect a school shooting of some sort. As upsetting as that would have been, it’s TV / entertainment and what happened was more upsetting and also stupid. You’re literally thinking the whole season that Tyler is going to shoot somebody and then clay who has his nose in everything somehow talks him out of it mid-shooting (no shots fired), snuggles him away so he doesn’t get in any trouble, and then stands there holding the AK when the police show up. I suppose to set up season 3 with suspense. But really I’m just thinking this is the most stupid thing of a the stupid things and I’m not watching season 3.

In a less negative voice.
In general this season was significantly less gut wrenching than season 1.
Except the last episode.
Tyler, a generally kind, but troubled kid, gets sent to some camp and then reruns to school with a new outlook on life only to be literally rapped in the butt with a broom stick by some jock.
It was an awful scene and affected me for a while.
In that moment I understood why that kid might want to shoot everyone at the school.
And that is pretty dark for me.
But so is broom stick butt rapping.
Overall, really disappointing season. A few notable and thought worthy moments.
Would recommend talking with others that have watched it about important points instead of watching it yourself.
