2017 Emmys

These awards are dumb! The Leftovers didn't get a nomination but House of Cards did? Carrie Coon got a nomination for Fargo, but not for The Leftovers? Her performance was way better in that.

‘The Leftovers’ Is Officially an Elite HBO Drama, Thanks to the Emmys
Being ignored by the Emmys puts "The Leftovers" right next to "The Wire" in an elite TV club — and it deserves the comparison.

Here's the full list btw

Westworld (22) and Stranger Things (18) lead Drama Series nominees.
Good thing GoT wasn't counted this year or it would be HBO competing against HBO

Jonathan Banks got a nom for Best Supporting Actor in BCS, but Michael McKean didn't?

How did GoT not get nominated?

Critics hated it or what? I don't know how these work

They didn't air episodes in the Emmy window for this year. GoT is usually April, but they pushed it to July. 2018 Emmys will include July 2017 GoT

2017 Emmys

I didn't have any desire to watch. I have the same problem with the Emmy's that most voters do. It's impossible to watch all of these shows and get invested enough in the characters to make a good vote. It's the reason why The Leftovers didn't get nominated. The show submits their clip to be considered, but most people don't have enough context/history with the show to nominate it.

Having said all that...it is interesting that Hulu beat Netflix to the punch with Big Drama.
Awesome that Donglover won his 2 awards.

Big Little Lies won way more than I thought they would.
