Comedy favourites Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are set to collaborate once again on a brand-new horror-comedy TV series.
Returning to the medium they started out in with shows such as Spaced, the Shaun of the Dead team are now working on a new show called Truth Seekers.
Made under their new banner Stolen Picture, the show will follow a three-person paranormal investigation team and each episode will focus on a different paranormal incident they investigate.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost Are Back With a British ‘X-Files’ - “Truth Seekers,” the comedy duo’s first TV collaboration in two decades, is rooted in their own ghost hunting exploits.

I watched the pilot over lunch. I was spooked and creeped out more than I should have been!
Peggs role seems very minor in this.

It is going to take me 4 sittings to finish the 2nd episode. I am not giving it a fair chance to hook me. Danny, I need you to watch it and convince me it is worth my time. I may table it for now.

I want to watch it but I can only find the Ultra Hi-Def (UHD) version on Amazon. UHD versions of shows often causes hiccups while watching.
I should have watched it this weekend when Maria was gone because she's often watching youtube on her phone and/or streaming a movie while in bed.

On all your devices or main TV? Bandwidth can't handle it?

On the tv, connected by wifi. I suppose I could try my laptop, also wifi. Maybe there is an app on playstation for amazon, that is hardwired.
I'll try those other options first, but I'm thinking it's bandwidth because it uses more data for UHD. I don't have the hiccups when watching their non-UHD content. The hiccups aren't bad enough to be unwatchable but are annoying enough to not want to watch.

I watched the first episode last night on my PS4, I didn't notice any hiccups like I do when streaming it directly to my TV.
I'll continue watching for Tyler's sake.
First episode had some good humor. Notably the dad screaming "nooooo" while riding the chair lift up the stairs.

Second episode played just fine on my PS4 also. Really think the TV has some sort of throttle.
right now I could see how this isn't hooking, Tyler. For the most part its a basic monster of the week structure. Has some chuckles but nothing laugh-out-loud funny.
I think I'm more excited for the over-arching plot, the girl and the ghosts. I like the design of the digital plague doctor.
I think Simon Pegg's character has a more malicious intent than he is leading on.

We fixed it!

Yeah, I think if it was funnier I would be into it more.

That thing always creeps me out. A lot of unknowns about that, but I will never learn them.

Malcolm McDowell is my favorite part of this show.
I wouldn't say watch just for his scenes, but he is a strong point.

Finished the series. I feel like the episodes could have been longer, but at the same time an hour long episode probably would be too long.
Dave (Simon Pegg)
I'm not sure I'd recommend it if you aren't already into these types of shows. I will stand by my Malcolm McDowell statement.

If you enjoyed it, I am happy for you. There is a hook there for sure, but it didn't quite get into me enough. Thanks for watching it all just for me.
