Netflix's The Witcher

Headlines like this are just capitalizing on people still disliking GoT because of a STORY reason - it had nothing to do with fighting.

It's possible Witcher uses more fantasy elements to the fighting so it looks different for that reason.
I read it a little differently. I think it's comparing the fight scenes to other great fight scenes and saying you thought this was good?! This makes it look bad.

I wanted to make a comparison so absurd so you understood what I meant

Episode one was good. Didn't think Ciri would be in this so soon

Sword fights are really well done

Reviews are saying this is super good. I'm excited to check it out but need to get through a bit of a backlog.

S01e01
What is going on?
Fight at the end was great when Cavil took out those 8 guys so easily. I guess that is an infamous thing he did in the books or games and that town is referenced a lot because of it

Ep2
Very confused by the Yennifer stuff. She's a half elf witch. She got recruited to witch school.

She was pretending to like the guy to get a flower and the guy was pretending to like her to get info on her for the autopsy guy from the first episode? Why are they eels and why does that make her happy?

Watched the first 3 episodes of this. I'm into it but it seems like the kind of show where if you don't like the fantasy genre, you're not gonna like it. Which seems like an obvious thing to say, but a show like Game of Thrones was pretty universally loved (until the last season) by lots of people because it wasn't strictly fantasy - there was a lot more going on. The Witcher is all fantasy adventure all the time.

Oh yeah, way more fantasy in Witcher than GoT. GoT was a political drama first, then character drama. Fantasy was low on it's genre list really.

Thanks for this. I've enjoyed the show so far, but this helps a lot in understanding the backstory. I might (I won't) consider checking out these books.

The Witcher's subplot is reminding me a lot of Mandalorian, and not in a good way. Episodes 4, 5, 6 of Mando didn't progress his story at all and just felt like the weekly bad guy. Witcher's story in 2 and 3 was exactly the same way. We learn very minimal about his character during these standalone missions.

Spoilers: My boss told me he figured out the show was on 2 timelines during ep3. The little kids at the witch dance were in a painting in the spooky castle that Witcher was hunting in.
