HBO Max for WarnerMedia - yet another streaming option

WarnerMedia Sets ‘HBO Max’ as Name of Streaming Service

HBO Max brings together HBO, a Robust Slate of New Originals, and Programming from Warner Bros., New Line, DC Entertainment, CNN, TNT, TBS, truTV, The CW, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Crunchyroll, Rooster Teeth, Looney Tunes and More
.....
there are other streaming services under this umbrella already such as DC Universe and HBO Now. Warner Bros. confirmed to io9 that DC Universe “will not change” and, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Max won’t impact HBO Now, HBO Go, or CW Seed either. All will remain as is, though that could change over time.

However, in the above trailer, you may have noticed Doom Patrol, one of those shows, is listed as being included with HBO Max, so it’s possible there will be overlap.

Very strange they are branding this as HBO and not AT&T or TimeWarner. Is this going to hurt HBO's image of being top tier programming?

Maybe not hurt them that way, but it is going to be confusing and annoying to try and know the difference between HBO Go, HBO Now, and HBO Max

This service is stacked. The Outsider, Lovecraft Country, Run.

I didn't look through the new series, because they could all suck.

I am interested in quite a few new shows.

I am glad this is bundled with existing HBO Now plans. Hopefully that doesn't mean a raise to HBO Now later though.

I havent checked yet to see if my HBO Now app on Roku magically changed over. I think that is the plan.

The Now app on my phone hasn't changed.

HBO Max won’t hit AT&T data caps, but Netflix and Disney Plus will
Oh, so weird! Whoever could have forseen this would happen? If only a massive amount of people had tried to prevent it with something called Net Neutrality

Current state:
HBO = cable sub
HBO GO = HBO cable sub on the go
HBO NOW = cable cutters unite, direct sub
HBO MAX = HBO + TimeWarner + Comedy Central + etc. The most content

Going forward:
HBO = cable sub
HBO GO = RIP
HBO = formerly HBO NOW . This still has to exist because HBO Max is not available on Roku or Fire devices
HBO MAX = the $15 HBO you get without a cable sub if you have a non roku/fire tv.

I'm glad the tested podcast explained things better where HBO has deals with companies which is why they can't launch on certain devices. It's shtoopid but I understand it.
