Fantastic Four Reboot

Postby awright » Thu Feb 20, 2014 8:03 am

Looks like it's going to happen and they've officially casted the main roles! It's looking like the Fantastic Four will be younger and based off the Ultimate series rather than the original.

(http://geektyrant.com/news/fantastic-fo ... -announced)

Oh did I mention, Michael Jordan is playing the Human Torch!? Of course not the Chicago Bull Michael Jordan but Michael B. Jordan. Still an interesting casting decision to me...been a lot of those lately in comic book movie roles. (Another in this movie is Jamie Bell as The Thing)

I don't know if I hate Miles Teller because of him or because of the roles he always plays. He is always the douchey best friend. Hated him in 21 and Over or whatever that horrible movie was. He was alright in Footloose as a hick I guess

So since Fox owns the Fantastic Four movie rights we will never see them mix with The Avengers

It seems weird that they are taking it so serious compared to how silly the other 2 were

The others received such awful reception that they had no choice but to stay far away from them. I think that's why there's been such criticism of this project too...not sure what's true of what's been reported but some of it was outlandish. The teaser excites me though and I love the tone.

Was up to 20% on RT last night but now at 9% after more reviews poured in. Can't wait to see where the audience goes

A couple guys from work had prescreen tickets and went last night. They said it was bad.

Why is it so hard to make a good movie with this property?

Rotten tomatoes critic on the radio also said it was just god awful, except the last 20 minutes.

Seems like they spend too much time on the origins aspect.

"This movie tries so hard to establish realistic origins with a scientific plausibility, it drags to a crawl for the first 3/4 of film time. Then tries to pigeon-hole the "fantastic" parts into the last 20 minutes with very little rhyme or reason."
