I think this is the first time I watched the trailer for Zootopia. Both look cute.

At it again!

I'll say Zootopia based on the trailers but Dreamworks has come through in the past when movies with similar concepts are released in the same time frame.

I think Disney (and Pixar) usually trump but I liked Antz and thought the story was better than A Bugs Life. Also enjoyed Mega Mind much more than Despicable Me but that comparison was closer.

Thought there was a lot more movies to compare really but looking at lists, theres enough contrast for a lot to be good in their own rights. However Shark Tales was awful compared to Finding Nemo and I hadn't even heard of the film that is supposedly similar to Ratatouille

Walt Disney Animation has really been showing that Pixar isn't their only studio that can make great animated movies. They have done Frozen and Big Hero 6 in the past 2 years. I imagine Zootopia will be just as cute.

Secret World of Pets is actually Illumination Entertainment, not Dreamworks. I only know this because I looked it up, I also assumed non-Disney movies were almost automatically Dreamworks. They have basically only done the Despicable Me movies and Dr. Seuss' The Lorax.

I always just lump Disney Animation and Pixar together--probably shouldn't. Big Hero 6 > Pixar. I think Zootopia > Secret World because we have seen the concept of "what are pets doing when we're not around" before. And if it's not pets, it's toys or something else.

So I was off on the Dreamworks/Disney/Pixar thing :/ I think I should of been more clear...you're right. It's not just Pixar and Dreamworks out there...and a lot of the SIMILAR movies are unique in their own rights and GREAT entertainment. Did enjoy the Lorax movie a lot, check it out if you have kids or just love that classic Seuss story--they adapted it well.

Saw this yesterday with some friends and their 3+ year old. She actually didn't care for the movie. She was pretty sleepy, but I think the story might have been a little over her head.

Zooptopia isn't as high concept as Inside Out, but it has more substance than your average kids movie for sure. I thought the characters were great, but the world building was my favorite part. It was really fun seeing the different animals have different roles and how the city was a combination of all animal environments.

I knew the sloth DMV part was coming, but I still laughed a lot during that scene. It was very very funny.

I noticed the obvious Breaking Bad reference in the train car with the ram wearing the hazmat suit, but didn't realize his friends were called Walt and Jesse until Jocelyn pointed it out to me.

Call me crazy but I really liked the use of that Shakira song the two times they used it in the movie. Fun movie, lot of predictability with the blueberries at the end and other little parts but fun none the less!

After seeing Zootopia and the preview for Secret Life before it, I'll skip the latter when it comes out...won't compare

You're not crazy, the Shakira/Gazelle stuff was funny. Did you mean you predicted the blueberries were causing it the whole time, or that they put a blueberry in the gun to fake a reaction?

I think Secret Life of Pets is for sure going to be lowbrow and not much depth to the movie.

Disney's 'Zootopia' crossed $1 billion at box office worldwide

I didn't even know this was still in theaters. Ranked #26 now for all time (international) grossing movie. Captain America 3 is currently #12 and should have no problem passing Minions, Iron Man 3, and maybe Frozen.

Zootopia is a little preachy with all of the lessons, but I really did like it.

The nudist scene observation made me laugh.

Zootopia was much better

Secret of life of pets was Homeward Bound 2 and Toy Story put together. Most of the funny parts were in the previews, lots of action
