Snow White and the Huntsman?

Postby Madman999 » Fri Jun 15, 2012 11:12 am

Latest movie I've seen a couple of weeks ago. Sticker shock, cost me 13.50 per ticket for non 3d movie here in NYC. At that price, skip the popcorn....

Anyhoo, the visuals for the movie were well done along with the action scenes. Charlize Theron was not bad as the evil queen. Don't know if she'll get an Oscar for her performance like she's stated but she's not a bad actress altogether.

However the story and the pacing was not great. Some very cheesy lines. You also have to believe that Kristen Stewart went from being a prisoner to full armor and leading an army ala Joan of arc in what felt like just 3 days. One saving grace she looked killer in the armor. Also battle choreography was pretty good.

Incidentally, a couple of parents took their pre teen kids out of the theater after about 15 minutes. This movie is not for kids.

I listen to a podcast about this movie. They raved about the visuals and how awesome the dwarfs were.

They also agreed with you about Stewart.

My only hesitation from going to this movie is Kristen Stewart as well. I really still want to see it though! Too bad I don't have anyone to go with... *cough*Corey*cough*

I heard one of the criticism of the dwarfs was they were regular people shrunk down digitally. Well Ian mcshane is a regular actor.

But They did it well that I didn't notice. It was a little less seamless in lord of the rings.

I would probably suffer through Kirsten Stewart and see it.

Battle sequences were not bad. Story line was a little cringe worthy.... Should have had James earl Jones do the voice of the mirror ala Darth Vadar.
