Steven Spielberg & Harrison Ford Team Up For ‘Indiana Jones 5’; Disney Sets July 2019 Release

Disney has just announced that Harrison Ford will be reprising his iconic role as Indiana Jones in the fifth installment in the series with Steven Spielberg returning to the director’s chair. The pic will hit screens on July 19, 2019. Spielberg directed the previous four pics, and this one has yet to be titled. Franchise vets Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall will produce.

Maybe since Lucas isn't involved it will be okay? Was Lucas involved in the last one?

I messed that up long ago with the DVD of the original 3. I've been meaning to upgrade them to bluray but I supposed I'll wait for a box set.

I think you mean wait for Harrison or Steven to die.

In regards to 'Indiana Jones 5', Steven Spielberg will not be "killing off Harrison Ford at the end of it."

Is it because that's going to be the opening scene?

That doesn't come as a surprise at all. Does Disney own all Lucas properties or just Star Wars?

I think they bought all of LucasFilm, not just Star Wars.

I don't know how to feel about that. I'll definitely see it but the last one was pretty bad.

And that's why Lucas isn't involved with this one

Shia is 100% more crazy than he was back when he did IJ4, but he is also a way better actor. I was kind of hoping he would be in this

Look, Shia LaBeouf is a prime example of someone getting way too big for their britches... lets be honest, the guy is crazy. His character along with the whole movie of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was stupid. Just horrible. If you want to hand the damn reins off to a younger character, just have Harrison Ford repirse his role of an older Indy, one who is retired, maybe have him chatting up someone in a retirement home about his adventures when he was younger... then flashback to a younger Inday played by a new actor... for example... Chris Pratt. Boom!! You just passed the baton off and can make more stories about a younger, more age appropriate Indy who once again faces Bellock and the Nazis or tell the story of Indy's mentor Dr Ravenwood and how he met Marion. You have so much material you could do around the 3 standing Harrison Ford movies. I mean when the conversations about what Indy had been doing in WWII before the events of Kingdom of Crystal Skull movie are more interesting than the actual movie... its time to move it to another person. This isn't hard. Just Disney the chit out of this... gawd.
