Thor: Ragnarok

Natalie Portman is out, Tessa Thomson (deaf girl in Creed) is in.

I have no idea what this movie is about at all, other than the weird hot tub scene in Avengers 2.

My only exposure to Ragnarok was reading the Civil War comic arc the past couple of months. In the comics Thor dies (I think), but they clone him and make him into a cyborg called Ragnarok. In the Civil War stuff they get an adjustment wrong and Ragnarok kills a fellow super hero.

I liked the Thor movies so far. I'll be interested in seeing this. Looks like release date is July of next year.

The Hulk is also suppose to play a big role in this movie. Thor 2 is one of the weakest MCU movies I thought, but this one seems to be setting up a lot of good things.

Is that Thor or a Gladiator remake?

Rumors are flying that they are going to introduce the Hulk world Planet Sakaar. There are differing options with this storyline. The comic has Hulk being sent to this planet, where he absorbs the radition and becomes stronger, and returns to Earth to seek revenge for those who he blames for killing his pregnant wife. In the animated movies, the difference is that Planet Sakaar's radiation makes him vulnerable, allowing him to become hurt and scarred. Wonder which way they go with that storyline and how it will affect Thor in this movie.

I forgot, in Civil War (or was it Avengers?) Bruce Banner freely left the team. Did it show him flying to a new planet? I don't think the team forced him out, did they?

In Avengers 2, he left the team because he believes that he is too dangerous. The team did not force him out. Its not said or how they will do it, don't know if he goes to a new planet or not. Rumors are they have seen the Hulk in the armor he wears in the World War Hulk storyline, this theory is what that is based on. Could be he just hanging out in the jungle, but it would be cool he comes back from a planet to help Thor. Then they can do a movie about where the Hulk has been. Hulk hasn't had a stand alone movie until the first phase. I think this would be a great movie plot for Hulk. But who knows what they will do with the character, I think he is the most under utilized Avenger for story. Hulk is used as comic relief or pure muscle. He deserves better.

Ah. Thanks for refreshing my memory on that. I was confusing it to the Civil War comic story where they did force him to a different planet.

Agreed. It's like they have to downplay him (and Thor) because if you compare those guys to Black Window you wonder why the world even needs non-superpowered heroes.. or even super heroes without super duper powers.

New teaser trailer came out. Looks super cool. Jeff Goldblum!

I'd post it but I'm at work on mobile so look it up yourself.

This looks more Guardian of the Galaxy than it does Thor...and because of that I think it looks great.

I got that vibe from it too. They even use a classic rock song for the trailer.

Also, I love Thor's reaction to seeing Hulk. "I know him, he's a friend from work"

The only problem I have... it was Beta Ray Bill (who also has the powers of Thor) that fought hulk in Planet Hulk, not Thor.
