Meg - Prehistoric-Shark Tale Starring Jason Statham

Postby Tyler » Fri Aug 19, 2016 6:44 am

How is this not a made for TV syfy movie?

Warner Bros’ horror-adventure film about a huge shark from another time that wreaks havoc off the coast of present-day China. Wilson will play Jack Morris, a tech billionaire who funds an underwater observation program that unwittingly unleashes the Carcharodon megalodon – a 70-foot, 40-ton prehistoric cousin of the great white.

1) the megalodon got up to 59 feet, not 70 like the movie is doing
2) it's not *that* big...

I guess it looks bigger in this one, especially compared to the Orca

Saw this over the weekend... set aside all reality and science and you'll enjoy this thrill ride. Granted this is a prehistoric sea creature who is supposed to keep getting bigger, I guess... but it seemed to me the Megladon kept changing in size. One point in the movie, a character gets stabbed by a screwdriver just below the stomach on the left side. When checked on in the med bay, the doctor says that they will be alright, it just missed the liver. Say what? Doctor, you know the liver is on the right side below the lungs... right? Anyway, this movie has enough thrills and chills to keep you interested. If you want to see a decent shark movie that is a step or two above Syfy production... feel free, you'll have some fun. If you are going to the theater expecting a masterpiece like Jaws... skip it.

I'll see this some Friday morning I hope. I thought the shark was changing size rapidly in the trailer so that criticism doesn't surprise me.

Is any part of this movie scary?!?!
