He seems too old to do the motion capture for Dumbo, but good on him.

Jkjkjkjk. He's the ring master

Crazy that they found a real, live baby elephant with ears that big.

I heard they bred it especially for this movie, that's why it has taken so long to make

I wonder if the animals will actually talk in this. Teaser doesn't show any of that

We watched the 1941 version today. Some takeaways:
-it's only an hour long
-dumbo never talks
-movie deserves all the criticism for being racist with the crows and the faceless black circus workers setting up the tent
-dumbo doesn't fly until the last 5 minutes of the movie.
-Dumbo gets SUPER drunk with the mouse

Seems about right.
We are going Sunday. I am not expecting it to go over well with Evie, but we will try. Going with some friends so maybe that will help.

I was whelmed. If I had to pick between over and under though, it would be under. The movie was fine and I was never wishing it would hurry up and finish, but I was also never that engaged or entertained. The son's role offered nothing to the movie and the daughter's "science" plot never paid off.

Not worth seeing in theaters, but a good afternoon watch at home with the kids.

TIL that Nico Parker is Thandie Newton's daughter. This was her fist acting gig as well.

Having just watched the original a week prior, here are things I noticed that the live action one did
-Stork dropping off the baby. Obviously changed this a little bit
-Mouse wearing the costume
-Clown with booze, but in the live action they said "keep that stuff away from him!"
-Pink bubble elephants
-clown Dumbo

Bad:
"We can't call him Jumbo Jr, it will remind him of his mom. Let's call him Dumbo, the name insulting name the mean people just thought of"
Calling Dumbo "Big D" LOL LOL

In a shocking display, Dumbo opened to an incredible #1 with $45M. This broke records becoming the 5th highest debut for a March Disney live-action release, the 25th best debut for a film with a CGI lead (almost beating Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel), and destroying as the biggest debut ever for a movie about a smart elephant

Wait, how many March Disney live-action movies have there been? Seems like a lot of qualifiers for it to be "impressive" at 5th.
