That's crazy. I'll have to read some Reddit audience reviews and see why they like it.

Venom smashes the October opening weekend record with a massive $80M debut at #1

the previous October opening record holder Gravity which set the bar at $55.7M in 2013. It's weird to think a superhero/villain film could ever be considered an underdog story (especially this year) but Venom might have been it. Fans of the film were first put on edge when Sony finally decided that the film would get a PG-13 rating which angered star of the film Tom Hardy who's been vocal about the cuts from the R-rated version. Then there was the awful critics reviews who trashed the film as one of the worst of the year. So while the film opened to $10M on Thursday there was nothing there that guaranteed an ending like this with a potential massive drop-off by Sunday. But the monster just kept growing and now it's become yet another huge success for the superhero genre.

Crazy that Venom is #1 one now with $80m and that Gravity held that record previously.

Maybe I will see it before it leaves theaters...

The movie is 2 hours and 20 minutes. Was it suppose to be 3 hours?! Maybe they cut Hardy's favorite parts and put in fluff.

Google is wrong. IMDB has the movie at 1:52

The credits with the 2 post scenes are 18 minutes long.

This was a perfectly serviceable movie. Doesn't deserve to be crapped on. Will do a full review later. But I thought it was fun. Didn't regret my time at the theater

“I’m kind of a loser too back on my planet” such a dumb reason for Venom to turn "good", but I bought it.

This movie was funnier than I expected. Venom and Brock are very funny when they are talking to each other.

Riot vs Venom was the weakest part of the movie. They introduced Riot, the fight, and conclusion in a 15 minute span.

The most unbelievable part of this movie? Brook living in a studio apartment downtown SanFran without a job! How does he afford that? He was circling ads for dishwashers. That was lame too...the late notice bills and circling wanted ads. That worked in 1995, but not how 2018 works.
