That's what it said under the theater picks. Something about "You don't have to fill your theater but you lose $2M per theater that is empty"

Yep. So everyone has a fair shot every week. The weeks accumulate though to determine the winner at the end of the season.

It showed on the site, that it updates Saturday and Sunday with estimates. Not that you can change anything halfway through or anything.

Right, I get that logic. Makes sense. All the GotG screenings would be full and the overflow would go into the random movies.
