MoviePass Drives 40% Of ‘Gotti’s $1.67M Opening

We’re hearing this morning that MoviePass accounted for 40% of the $1.67M opening ($668K) to John Travolta mob pic Gotti, which took headlines over the weekend for its 0% Rotten Tomatoes score from 23 critics. MoviePass also invested a couple million into this movie.

Ouch! But at the same time it proves MoviePass can put butts in seats.

Not bad if you only go to AMC and like seeing movies opening weekend. I'll stick with half priced option though and continue going during non-peak hours

Surge pricing coming for popular movie times
https://amp.businessinsider.com/moviepa ... ter-2018-6

MoviePass will launch a "high-demand" added price to its subscribers beginning in July for movies the app deems popular.

By the end of August, it will also launch a bring-a-friend option and premium option to see movies in IMAX or Real 3D.

They're making it more complicated than it should be. It might be the beginning of the middle of the end for MoviePass.

I think movie pass should have a way that the snacks are cheaper also. Or if watch a movie get points and can use the points on snacks or something. What your ideas on this or is it a dumb idea.

I would like that, but they can't afford to do that. They are already losing money. Some plans from movie theater chains off cheaper snacks tho

If it's available, make sure to join your theater's rewards program. Moviepass covers the cost of the ticket, but you can still get points for that purchase which eventually leads to rewards like free popcorn or whatever other deals they give.

Lol, you think Main Street Theatres has a rewards program? The Sheldon location didn't even geta credit card machine until 2009 and I think they still only have the 1. They don't even have cash registers.

I thought I remembered having a Main Street card back in the day. Maybe that was only for Orange City's location though.

MoviePass Parent to Raise $1.2 Billion in Bid to Keep Company Growing
MoviePass says it may reverse-split its stock both in order to raise money more easily and to make sure its shares are not delisted from Nasdaq, given they trade at less than a buck apiece, which is under Nasdaq's listing threshold.

Every other week it's an article about movie pass going under or being okay. This sounds bad.

I was reading an article yesterday about how the guy who runs Moviepass has started 50 companies and only 4 are still in business.
