My home town theatre is looking into taking movie pass. My question is how are they making money by only charging $9.95?

So i signed up. Before I did they had a map finally on their website. Looked up with my zip and it gave me 2 theatres close by where my girlfriend lives. Its only about 20 miles from my house. So i registered and the app doesn't show those 2 theatres but another city further away. When i chane location nothing works.

The app won't show theaters until you activate the card. The app is only showing theaters that support e-tickets though Movie pass, which are basically none. Once you get the card it should all work

I got my card in the mail yesterday. It doesn't come with any instructions to activate it. The app still doesn't show theaters in my area.

This seems very poorly executed by MoviePass.

MoviePass Says It Passed 150,000 Sub Target After Price Drop Publicity
In the two day period after the movie ticket subscription service announced a drop in price to $9.95 a month, it raised its sub level to more than 150,000, passing the target set for late 2018, according to data firm Helios and Matheson Analytics which agreed to buy MoviePass.

It had about 20,000 subscribers in December, when the cheapest package cost $14.95.

I used mine yesterday! Slight annoyance is needing to use 2 cards at the box office now.
Had to buy 1 ticket for myself with the app and then had to use our normal CC to buy Jocelyn's ticket and popcorn.

Service worked flawless though. As I was walking in the door I checked into the theater/movie time and the app said I had 30 minutes to buy a ticket.

That is a pretty lofty expectation.

Going to be giving mine a whirl this weekend. Going to IT and hopefully hitman's bodyguard

I wouldn't ever do this, because it's wrong. But i heard someone drive by the movie theater on there way to a friend's house and checked into a movie. He then gave his Movie pass card to said friend who used it to buy a ticket for a different time. No one went to jail.
