We ended up finishing this over 2 more sittings. It was her idea to start it again because she said she wasn't scared anymore. The spiders, hunter, and killer plants didn't not scare her at all compared to the bugs

Eddie Murphy's Dr Doolittle has to be the weakest PG-13 ever. They should have just gotten rid of the drunk money and 3 "asses" and it could have been PG.

I havent seen this movie in 18 years? I was shocked by how many lines and plot points I remembered. It does make sense though, I quote "Thiiiissss feeeelllsss goooddd" at least once a month.

Evie thought it was just okay

I saw this thread on Reddit last week and we watched it with the family.
Why You Should Revisit Matilda (1996)

This movie totally holds up. I was enjoying it as much as Evie did. The movie is way sadder than I recall, but everyone gets what they deserve in the end. When The Trunchbul grabs the girls by the pigtails and throws her over the fence. OMG. I forgot how hilarious that was. I had to remind Evie it was just a movie though and no one was getting hurt. Miss Honey is a total babe too.

The behind the scene stories about this movie are incredible. Danny DeVito (director and writer) basically took in the Matilda actress because her mother was sick in the hospital. He also snuck out an unfinished version of the movie so she could watch it.

Flora And Ulysses on Disney+

The adventures of a young girl and a squirrel with superpowers.

This was better than it had any right to be. The child actress was fine, but the adult cast made the movie for us.
Alyson Hannigan as the mom
Ben Schwartz as the dad (which was weird)
Danny Pudi as the villain

Asked JJ if he wanted to watch that but it's not one of the 3 movies he wants to watch on repeat constantly, so it was a no go.

You're the parent. Make him watch the squirrel movie! Oliver only watched the last 15 minutes and he was into it because of the squirrel.

Watched tonight. We laughed. It's way better than I remembered, or maybe I never watched it. I definitely worked at the theater while it was out and saw pieces of it

Yes Day - Netflix
Jennifer Garner, which was interesting because we just watched Alexander and the Horrible No Good Very Bad Day a few months ago, and she's a mom in that.

A mom and dad who usually say no decide to say yes to their kids' wildest requests with a few ground rules on a whirlwind day of fun and adventure.

This movie triggered me. These are totally normal parents who say no to their kids when the kids should be told no, but the kids and even teachers say the parents are bad for this.

The Pacifier from 2005 with Vin Diesel.
This wasn't half bad. Kids liked it and we were laughing at times. While watching it we commented on how young Vin looked and he was probably younger than us. He was 38 in 2005. Nevermind.

Yes. In so many ways. Was entertaining enough for the family on a Sunday afternoon

Moved this quote from 2021 movies. I just don't pay attention to new movies anymore. If it's not complimentary on a service I already I have, then I'm not going out of my way to watch it. I'm not paying $30 to rent a movie from a service I'm already paying for either.

Totally valid point.

Beathoven 1 and 2 (there are 8 btw).
I remember so much of these after watching. All of these people look familiar.

#2 has more adult content than I remembered. Like almost rape.

While watching these I decided they should remake them and cast David Harbor as the dad. His mannerisms match the dad identically.

Amazon has a new Cinderella movie. Evie watched it once with her grandparents and then wanted to watch it again with us.
The singer Camila Cabello is Cinderella and the music used in the movie are pop hits from over the decades. Idina Menzel (Elsa voice artist) plays the step mother.

Overall the movie felt like a Disney channel original movie, but just a tiny bit more production value. Your kids will like it and you will tolerate it.
