Action Point. Johnny Knoxville

A daredevil designs and operates his own theme park with his friends.

Vice published an interview with Knoxville today where he mentioned that at one point during filming, his eyeball popped out of its socket. "I thought of the most painful stunts I could, and we made a film." Link
"I got back from the emergency room one night from a gnarly concussion and I had a little blood in my nose, so I went to blow my nose, and when I blew it, my left eye popped out of its socket. It freaked me out."

I'm a sucker for these movies, I will see. Looks a lot like Bad Grandpa where it will be unscripted stunts backed into a loose plot.

Knoxville is 47! He is too old to be doing this stuff.

I thought I saw that this is based on the real life "Action Park" in New Jersey that shut down after seriously injuring multiple people.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Action_Park
The park's popularity went hand-in-hand with a reputation for poorly designed, unsafe rides; under-aged, under-trained, and often under-the-influence staff;[3] intoxicated, unprepared visitors; and a consequently poor safety record. At least six people are known to have died as a result of mishaps on rides at the original park.

I feel like we had a thread on this place in the past.

I just now actually read the article. My god. Why would you put yourself through all of that?

Good read. He talks about the story taking awhile to figure out, so maybe it does have more of a plot than Bad Grandpa.

Will hopefully see this in theaters, but doubt we have time to do so before our trip.
