Lol. Such an original joke that I have never heard you make at Popeyes during lunch and definitely wasn't on Reddit.

I wonder if this is based on the Flannan Isle Lighthouse mystery. Essentially three lighthouse workers mysteriously vanish in December of 1900.

I'd shed some light on it but it appears our operators have vanished...

Apparently it's based on the Smalls Isle Lighthouse. That was back when only two people manned a lighthouse. In 1801 two men were operating a lighthouse on a small island off of Wales. One of them died and tossing the body into the ocean would make the living a suspect of murder, instead he tried to live with the corpse. When the body deteriorated to the point of disease, he made a make shift coffin and tied the coffin outside of the house. Eventually a storm broke coffin and caused the decayed hand of the deceased to tap on the window of the lighthouse.

Watched this last night. I liked it. I liked the setting, the slow descents into madness, and how it was shot. It wasn't scary in the slightest, more tense or unsettling. The movie moves kind of slow. I think I liked The Witch more than this though. Eggers films don't have the same problems I have with other A24 "horror" movies, where the first two acts are slow and the third act is in overdrive with little to no build up. Eggers allows his tension to build properly. Definite watch if you were a fan of the Witch or lighthouses.

Lol. I love lighthouses so I better watch. I've wanted to see this, I'm not sure why I haven't yet.
