We would have lost money not buying them for $50. It finally went on my bill a couple weeks go. Dang activation fee.

Verizon was offering them for $100 if you added them to your data plan for an extra $10 a month plus 1 gig of extra data for a year. Corey and I did that. Alex went in a week later and got it for $50 and a free gig of data for life. Corey and I got a price match but not the gig for life. Normally like $300+ for them

Ah, yea that is a good deal. I'm glad you ended up with the LG G pad and not Verizon's eclipse bullshit. I wouldn't have been able to do that as I still have unlimited data and can't add tablets for cheap. I do however take Verizon to the cleaners every chance I get.

Watson2000 on the forum has unlimited and his wife used like 70gigs last month. Do you rival that? Unlimited data wouldn't be worth full priced devices for me. On wifi almost all of the time.

I don't rival that. But data usage will forever be trending up. I'll hang onto unlimited for as long as I can. I'll be on my like 4-5th device since unlimited went away and the moto x is the first device I've bought without a subsidy, it was cheaper anyways so no big deal.

I just found a loop hole to renew my contract and keep unlimited so I got the new HTC One (M8) and plan on just selling it for the cash and keeping my current moto X when the One finally gets here.

Actually I'm selling my moto X to a guy at work and I just bought myself the moto X developer edition, long story as to why that is going on but that should be complete within a week.

I'm like Corey with phones, but worse.

Haha. You do like switching it up. Corey is barely Corey anymore, but he did recently swear off iOS for good

Love my surface. Completely replaced my laptop. I have not noticed one downside of having the rt version. Its also a great combo with the Lumina icon I got a few days ago. I love the complete integration with one drive so I can record a lesson and email it later from my surface. And doing the same with excel docs is great.

Not a new phone but I bought the new lg g pad x8.3. Sequel to last year's. Verizon exclusive, full size USB port, built in semi active pen (nothing close to an s pen or anything with a real digitizer, but it only work for this tablet so its not capacitive only)

Really liking it so far, will be great for golf lessons next year. Only complaint is speakers are on the back instead of the front, but it's minor as they sound great.

Corey and I got these 2 years ago. He left his on his bumper and drove away. I still use mine nearly everyday, almost entirely for comics and Plex.

I like the screen size. 7" tablets aren't big enough for comics. This 8.3" is actually bigger than the iPad mini. I think the resolution and screen quality are great too. I got an official Verizon flip case and love it. Paid more for the cover than the tablet since I got it for $50 by adding it to my plan.

Agree about the speakers. When I have the flip cover open it covers speakers. I always use headphones though when I'm laying in bed watching Plex while jocelyn sleeps.

Oh, battery life. Awesome. It seems to hold a charge in sleep mode for most of the week. Just need to remember to plug it in once and awhile.

Exactly. Plus I got an extra gb of data for a year. My 2 years is up in a couple months, I'll cancel the plan becasue cellular wasn't that important to me for that device.

ejhartman91, you got the Nvidia Shield? What motivated you to get that tablet? Will you be using it for gaming/set top box stuff?

How is your Gpad bmyoungs? Using it often? I'm watching a show via Plex on mine right now in bed. I do this a few times a week. I love the form factor for watching stuff. The kickstand case comes in handy, even though it was more than the tablet.

Yeah it's used 100% for watching things. I plan on bringing it to work more once I start with lessons for video analysis on a larger screen than my phone.

Yes, I've had it for a year or so now. The first one I had was part of a recall and they sent me a brand new one to replace it.

I use it mainly for browsing feedly and general stuff I'd use my phone for normally when I'm at home. I don't really do any gaming, mostly content consumption when I'm at home or on the road. I sometimes use it when traveling to watch Amazon video, since you can use the Amazon Video app while offline.

I'll give you my 8.3" tablet and I'll take your Shield. Fair trade.
