Turn on Heater or AC thread

Keep ours at 45. Haven't turned it on yet this year but likely will be soon...

What's the humidity reading on your Samsung sensors down there?

The only one I have down there is the leak sensor by the sump pump. It only seems to show temp, but I imagine the humidity in there would not be representative of the rest of the basement anyway.

My pump has stopped working on mine and I have been emptying the bucket manually for the past few weeks. Haven't done a deep dive into it to see what is wrong other than checking the filter and confirming I can blow through the tubing.

Turned on heat today. It's been surprisingly cold out this week and got to 65 in the house. Supposed to be back in the 70's and even break 80 next week. Weird transition to fall this year.

I turned OFF the AC this week. Its been in the upper 40's/lower 50's and it was still kicking on. House is maintain 69 at night with no ac/heat, but if we dip much lower outside I'll have to turn it on.

We've been keeping the windows open during the day and sitting pretty comfortable. Shut windows at night and gets to like 65?

Same. We still have Nest set to AC and it kicks on a few times a week, havent done heat yet.

We only ran the AC about 10 hours for all of October so far, which is nice. Been letting the house air out.

A bit chilly indoors today, but stays toasty downstairs still

Tempting since the pump on mine broke already. I've messed with it a few times but can't fix it. It's not the end of the world to empty the bucket though since I have a big deep sink near it.

We turned the AC on over the weekend. It hit 80's during the day and it was too hot at night to go to bed.

Same. But only for like 30 minutes. I set our fan to run 15 minutes every hour instead because it's so much cooler in the basement that circulating the air helps cool the upstairs.

I read a bunch of forums that say to just always run the fan to circulate. It's been much better. Haven't had to turn on the air yet

With Nest you need to have heat or AC on to run the fan though. I guess to get around that you set the AC to 80 so it never kicks on and then just have the fan set.

I have a nest and I scheduled my fan to run independent of the heat or a/c
