Taxes
Re: Taxes
I thought of this thread when I saw that in the news last night about Turbo Tax.
And I saw that slickdeals deal for tax act today. I was pissed because it's better than the deal I got and I already filed.

Blake was apart of this I believe... Having my cuz do my Taxes FTW, not that it matters as state filings have no effect in Texas.
Still interesting to see
yeah, that's pretty much it except mine was federal only. No state income tax here either

So what recourse do you have?

have called IRS several times, and they were basically no help. I was able to stop the deposit by calling the bank that the deposit was going to go to. They opened fake moneypak card under my name. So at least they got zero money
and then I have submitted my correct taxes and ID theft affidavits to the IRs for processing. My refund will come at the earliest in 6 months
also called social security, filed a report, called FTC, and equifax

I'm still waiting on my Minnesota return. They're taking their sweet time.

Re: Taxes
That's a super sucky deal Blake. At least you are getting it sorted out.
Re: Taxes
That's really shitty! At least you caught it before any major damage was irreversible.

Wow, what a huge painful process. It was completed just a month before you can file for this year.

Likewise. Corey made me use them because that's what he uses. They have treated me well so far. This year will be more complicated with baby and house. You can probably get away using the free option with them or IRS

Lol they told me my password must have been found out and they had no system hacks etc bs there
Re: Taxes
Been using TurboTax for the past 5-7 years, but I will take my taxes to some tax people who live across the street from me. First year filing jointly, moving, getting married, etc. might complicate taxes. I'd rather just not worry about it and have someone else do it.
Never used TaxAct, but apparently you guys say great things? Might have to look into it next year or so.

Re: Taxes
I'm an old man, I am using the desktop version of TurboTax this year. TaxAct wasn't making it as simply as I wanted it to be with baby, house, and multiple returns.
