The way Amazon charged the TicBand, I can return that for $37 so I am doing that. All in, the TicWatch Pro only costed $178 after tax which is a killer deal.

I caved and ended up getting a Fossil Explorist gen 4 for $192 at Target. This is way more stylish than the Ticwatch Pro. It just looks like a standard watch, which I like. I didn't like the Ticwatch Pro's LCD screen layout and found it hard to read so I turned it off (removing the one thing it had over the Fossil). The Fossil also feels way thinner (even though it is only 1.4mm thinner).

My watch is not reliable at all. Texts usually come in but hangouts don't show up a majority of the time. Maybe I need to repair or something. Should have got gen 4 fossil with you guys

Do you have "OK Google" detection enabled? I've heard people say that is a huge hit on performance.

I don't know if my gen 3 even has that actually. I've never triggered it just by talking, have to hold button.

I would assume you have it. My 3 year old Huawei Watch has it. As does my 2 year old Moto 360 Sport.

Thanks. You're right I have it and it's off. I do remember turning that off since it was going when I was talking to my phone or homes

My Fossil was not happy this morning. Screen was going on/off. I was getting almost old tv static on it. I am going to let it die and hope a new charge fixes it. If not.... AmEx claim and upgrade?

I'm very happy with my fossil sport watch. The weirdest part I like most vs my old smartch is the screen is flush with the bezel so I don't have to deal with a ledge while swiping around

Crisis adverted. Draining the battery and recharging fixed it all

But now my battery lasts a whopping 5 hours. Ugh.

Factory resetting. That will drain the rest of my battery with updates so I'll give it a real test tomorrow.

Shout out to Keith from Fossil. I didn't have a receipt and could only show him my CC statement showing a $156.97 purchase from Fossil on July 11, 2018. He let me upgrade to a $275 gen4 watch for $40. Saying he has seen Gen4 go on sale for $199 and then took $156 off of that. I was very grateful and told him I would leave positive feedback online for him. I wasn't expecting anyone to be helpful and thought there was no way I walked out with a new watch.

A lot of people on the r/wearos subreddit have had similar experiences at Fossil stores. Their sales reps appear to be pretty generous when it comes to issues with the watches and replacements.

My other watches took about 3-5 days for the battery to work out the kinks and start behaving as expected. 2nd day with the watch and it is projecting me at 1.5 days.

I've had it on since 530 and battery is 86% right now. Always on Display enabled. Tilt to wake off. Wifi On.

Day two the battery lasted 8 hours...

Day 3 it was back to about 1.5 days.

Today is is projected for 1 day + 15 hours

I am so impressed with this Fossil even though it has the same processor as my previous model. I have the screen always on. I wear it about 14 hours a day and put it away at 65%. My old watch NEVER made it from morning to bedtime and I had the screen shut completely off most of the day.

I really enjoy my fossil compare to the to watch I had before. I will never use Android pay since the pin was a pain in the arse.

Other than notification I guess I don't really use it for anything but it's good at keeping me alert when I don't have my phone sitting next to me at work
