Does your explorist have the black ring? I thought we had the same explorist just different styles?
Look back in this thread. You have a explorist gen 4 according to that, same as me. Gen 4 (for the explorist) doesn't have the new processor.
Also, yes mine has the ring but I don't notice it as almost everything I see on my watch has a black background.

Yes. I have gen 4 explorist, you are right. Jocleyns is gen 4 venture.

If I have the black ring I have never noticed it either because of my settings. I'll experiment more in the morning.

Jocelyn for sure has a sun boost setting and I do not

I'm dum!!! Okay! Leave me alone! No I'm no.

Since my watch is black the black ring just isn't noticeable like it is on Jocelyn's. It's always been there and I didn't realize it.

The biggest thing I hate on mine is if I want to use Google pay it requires a pin that is needed almost constantly. (At least this was the case when I first got my fossil sport last year)

What was worse was I had to factory reset to get rid of the pin.

I have a pattern which is the same idea but I only have to do it when I first put it on (or when I put it on after it was taken off).

Same thing. Just need to do PIN once in the morning. It's dumb I even have pay enabled though because I have only used it twice ever? If I just had it off I wouldn't need the PIN.

Factory resetting the watch is such a pain. It takes forever to update and get it back to how you like it

Maybe mine was just buggy because it had me enter the pin like 4-5 times a day

Jocelyn is loving hers. Wears it basically daily. The pink leather band that came included is horrible though, shows dirt really easily. Over the weekend she got some replacement silicon bands from Fossil, kind of price at $30 a set, but they look nice. I am sure any generic band would have worked, but we just went to Fossil.

Went rogue after the charging coils on my fossil sport fell off and bought a Samsung Galaxy watch active 2 (with built in golf support through golf buddy).

Figured it was worth a shot given the only app support I wanted outside notifications was golf. A lot of reviews say tizen is leaps and bounds better than wear os also so we will see about that.

I got it today and I'm golfing Friday so I'll let everyone know

What's your initial impression of the OS? Is Tizen the Samsung watch OS?

I'm also interested in your opinion of it vs Wear OS. I have seen reviews mention lots of positives of Tizen over Wear OS.

How long did you own the Sport before this happened to you? I have seen a lot of people online (reddit mostly) post that this happened to them. I'm also wondering how often you cleaned the bottom of the watch. I rinse and dry my Fossil Sport every night before it goes on the charger and so far I haven't had any issues (I have owned the watch and worn it nearly daily since January 2019. It seemed to me from most of the pictures people posted online of their charging rings falling off the watches looked really dirty - so I'm wondering if gunk buildup may be a factor with that.

The watch itself looks and feels more expensive than the fossil I had. It's the same size though.

I like the os so far. It's not much different than wear, but it's cleaner. I can rearrange widgets and apps within the phone app so if I need to access them on watch it's quick.

There's absolutely less options for third party apps, but like I said those were/are irrelevant since the only one I ever wanted was a good golf app.

I had it maybe 8 months before it got so bad it wouldn't charge at all. It got unusable after the quarantine began and I tried going through fossil support but it wasnt worth the effort.

I probably wiped mine clean weekly was all. Once a small piece of glue let loose though it was a quick path to the whole part nearly falling off.

I have never wiped my fossil watch down. Am I gross?! I don't wear while being active tho. Just at work or around town (when those were things). No running or swimming

I wear mine through everything. I switch out the band depending on what I'm doing. I'm usually active enough every day to work up a sweat at some point so I just rinse if off every night. Sweat/dead skin/dust can build up and get nasty as proven by some of the pictures of broken fossil sport watches I've seen on reddit.

The charging coils were the main thing holding me back from getting a new fossil. I don't think I will have the issue with the qi charging on the Samsung

If nothing else battery life after a day use is unbelievable. Took off charger at 7am still at 88% with no adjustment to power settings.

Dannnng. and my experience with Fossil was that the first 2-3 days the battery life was horrible.
