New car

Postby bmyoungs » Sat Apr 18, 2015 3:07 pm

Lease was almost up and found a great deal today.

Will post pics later but its a 2012 Malibu with 22000 miles. My favorite part was it has remote start and even the dealership didn't know! That was a happy surprise.

Purchase. Dealer had it priced like $3500 below market value. Made negotiations boring because not much we could say about the price.

Yeah that sounds pretty good. Really low mileage for a 2012. Mine's a 2013 and has 37,000.

Sounds like a good buy. Should be a good car for you and then use the Enclave for trips

Dang. That's way nicer than the Malibu cars I remember. The car your dad restored was a Malibu right?

We pay off Jocelyn's 2013 GMC Terrain in November. We aren't in any real hurry to replace it, but when we do I would like a 3rd row midsize SUV. Something that has the 3rd row folded down majority of the time, but it is there if you need it.

Pottebaum may be in the market for something similiar. Bryansucks really likes the brand new model Hyundai Palisade. New for 2020.

Ejhartman, what does consumer report say?

CR really likes the new Kia Telluride. The new models don't have official ratings from CR yet though because they are so new so still being tested. The initial report on the Telluride was positive though. Same goes for the Palisade (CR said they are "mechanical siblings" - whatever that means...).

Basically all the same underneath. Prolly build on the same production line. Just cosmetic differences and a few different options to hit different price points. Like the Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable for example.

Apparently not....since he never posts here but told us he's getting a 2019 Edge.

Have had 3 Kia Sorentos for work. 16, 17, 18 and I only had one issue and one recal. Between the 3 I've put on 165,000 miles so reliability is definitely high for Kia (compared to how they used to be)

We're going to get rid of the family van this winter and get either a VW Atlas, Honda Pilot, or Subaru Ascent. Leaning heavily towards the Atlas but have been reading reliability issues
