Having an extremely hard time getting into this book. 30℅ done. At night I have no desire to read it. Really tempted to quit it, but going to keep pushing through. Watching The Shield in bed on the tablet sounds a lot more enjoyable than reading this book, it puts me to sleep.

What to read?

Postby DannyFanny » Thu Dec 17, 2015 12:11 am

Finished The Gunslinger last night. I liked it. Kept me entertained enough to not want to put it down at times. Will definitely read the next few in the series at least.

Going to start David Wong's newest book, Futuristic Violence, tonight.

Pure coincidence or fate, the book start out on December 16?

Finished this one. I'd rank this below his two other books but it doesn't mean this book was bad. I still liked the humor and the chapters kept me coming back.

Planning on starting Armada by Ernest Cline next week or whenever I finish my dead pool run.

Was it as weird as his first 2 books? Was it not weird enough so you didn't like it as much?

No it wasn't as weird as his other two books. It was more sci-fi than the other two.

Finished Armada over the weekend. It wasn't as enjoyable as Ready Player One. Predictable ending is Predictable. It feels too similar to other works, especially, when they reference certain works by name.

Reading a Brave New World next.

I'm reading Beacon - Hugh Howey. Has the same feel and seems to be on par with writing as Wool. It's about a modern day lighthouse keeper in space. Beacon is supposed to redirect ships away from danger and asteroid belts, and he is the mechanic in charge of maintenance, BUT STUFF IS GOING WRONG!!!! AHH!!!!!

Released last September. Not sure how we missed that. It was around when we were reading Wool.

Nice. I remember almost nothing about the other 2, but they were fun. I'll check it out when I finish Artemis.

I just started old man's war on audible. So that'll be a longer series to listen to in the empty pro shop this winter.
