Re: Hyvee
There's a health food store just off MLK and Woodland Ave. It's called Gateway. I don't know what they all have there, but there's a chance you can see Ben Vos.
Re: Hyvee
Aldi's is so confusing. Couldn't find anything. Friend had to borrow me a reusable bag. Had to find a quarter for the cart. I got so flustered I thought about just leaving my cart in the store and running out, was worth a quarter to me to get out of there. Ended up getting frozen bag meals instead of things I needed

I hated Aldi at first but once you know where things are and what they have its nice. The thing with Aldi is knowing what they have that you need because you can't get everything there.

Jocelyn and I are going to try eating healthier. I am going to check out Aldi after work. We have a Fareway in town that is a year old and their produce is very hit or miss. Will get spinach and have it expire the next day (our fault for not reading the package?).
depends how it is store in the refrigerator, but you can go about 3 days past expiration date
Re: Hyvee
I did sell my cart to someone for a quarter so that was neat. Is that even legal there?!

You have to pay for a cart?

You put a quarter in to get a cart and then you get the quarter back when you return it.

Re: Hyvee
Does that mean you can just keep it and let them keep the quarter?

The quarter is in the cart. There is a locking mechanism on the cart that unlocks it from the rack when you put a quarter in. So I guess you could keep the cart and the quarter but you'd have to break the lock to get your quarter out.

If you were given the chance to buy as many shopping carts as you wanted for a quarter a piece, how many would you buy?

I feel like a dollar's worth is plenty.

Re: Hyvee
Really two would be sufficient. Push one and pull the other. Anything more would be cumbersome.
Re: Hyvee
So next time Huss is here with the truck go buy some carts? We didn't know any better.

Returned to Aldi's today after not trying it for years. Was surprised by the prices on a lot of stuff and shocked how close their offbrand stuff looks like name brand. Organic whole milk was almost 50% cheaper than Fareway.
I also gained a quarter! We didn't use a cart, but the cashier put our stuff in a cart and I returned it.
I would go back, not weekly, but maybe once a month so it's 10 mins away compared to 3.
