Basically a buried gutter that pops up when it gets full of water. The green thing would raise and let water out. It can also drain down into the earth a little bit.

POP UP DRAINS! We had one put in our backyard by the concrete guys that put in our new patio. Pop up drains are all the rage these days!

Hussbuss and my dad were way ahead of the trend. They were using them in projects back in 2009
