I have a "Watch TV" and "Watch Netflix" activity. I think I just need to set up a bunch of shortcuts which makes the commands shorter.
Yeah those are my only activities. I did set up shortcuts so I don't have to say "ask Harmony" for every little thing.

I do need to set up my Roku with assistant on my other than that has no sound bar. That would actually be useful.

My parents got an Echo Dot and I set up the Harmony skill for them. That works pretty slick with cable as you can ask it to turn to specific channels. I even made it so my dad can say turn on the Twins game then it turns on FSN. They were impressed with it.

For our house we just use turn on/off with Assistant. We have multiple hubs so I am stuck using IFTTT until I decide to mess around with it some more. Shield TV just released some Google Assistant integration that I need to test out.

HTC Cable? Does the box/DVR enable all that?

Anything would work with it. It's just Harmony integration that punches in the tv channel.

Ahhh. I misread your post. Didn't see you were doing this through the Harmony hub, I thought it was Dot directly to cable box.

That would be the only good thing about cable again.

Costco has the 10" Lenovo Smart Display for $150. Killer deal. If I had an easy way to get back to Costco (was with sister yesterday) I would buy it and sell my 8" for $75. Maybe I'll make it there by the end of the month, otherwise the 8" one is fine for me.

I found someone to buy it today for me and tylersucks is buying my 8". $75 upgrade, I'm cool with that.

Now that Jocelyn uses it to watch TV while cooking she will appreciate the size increase.

Not sure if I'll get away with having the 10" Lenovo and 11.6" Dakboard in the kitchen at the same time

New 10" boy. Will find a better spot for it in new kitchen. Hard to tell it's bigger in this picture

Anyone see this from CES? Makes me slightly regret getting a Google Home Hub for the kitchen now...it is a bit pricier though (we got our Home Hub for $99 from Target with 2 free Home minis).

No mention of camera. That's a requirement for me. Looks smaller than Lenovo, both in screen and form factor. Being water resistant is nice, but I don't see it being required. I'm not dropping mine in the sink.

Good looking device. No video. $200+? No deal.

I'm jealous of the drop in feature. My boss just dropped in on his kid's Echo and wake him up since he wasn't answering his phone. They can have a back and forth conversation on it. That seems way more useful than broadcast since it is basically just a phone call.

No idea, they must be getting updates at different times. Of my 5? only 1 has it, it is of course Evie's so it offers no benefit. Feddersen said one of his had it and then he rebooting the 2nd and it got it. Rebooting did not work for me.
