Oh well now I have one in bedroom and living room

LOL. At least he made that comment before you gifted it to him. Did you make a big scene about him not getting one now and just secretly think to yourself "score, I get to keep it!"

I mean...you could ship it back for free if you didn't want it.

He's a computer engineer so I figured he'd enjoy it. His girlfriend said she wanted one and he said never. He said he'd rather build it himself and make his own voice recognition software or wait for something to become open source for it so the data doesn't go to Amazon.

He's a confusing dude.

I'm sure he can build something better than Amazon.

Picking up a Phillips Hue starter kit I bought on sale at Best Buy tonight. Looking forward to setting up, connecting to home, and making my home even smarter!

Sweet! I'll probably wait until next year to do this.

Looks neat! Be careful to not overheat the water, looks like someone in that reddit thread had their base fabric rip.

Probably not, but I like them a lot!

This is cool. Only color other than grey that would work with our current theme would be yellow.

Also, I wonder what white would look like...

Looks like a lot of cool stuff, but I haven't dug into any of that. Seems right up your alley though!

This actually makes me mad. Starting today Google Home's shopping list will be in the Home app, not Google Keep

That's stupid. Can you change it in settings?

Nope. Google wants you to use the Home or Express app in hopes of you ordering things through their Express store. You can still share the list, but you need a different app now to view/update it.

In a plus side, multi-user controller is just around the corner. I'm not as excited about that though. Using one account on our Home offers no drawbacks for our use case.

IFTTT supports Google Home now (or has for awhile). I will be playing around with this.
