what do you think of it? I'm thinking about getting for our main living room with recessed lighting

And is anyone familiar with more affordable competitors? I was looking on Costco's website and found this:

Do you need them to change colors? Just put a smart switch in the wall and use standard bulbs.

No I probably don't at all and would probably be fine with dimmable just plain white bulbs and may go that route as well. I can definitely see using a smart bulb in our living room right now with saying dim the lights, etc.

Smart switch for hardwired recessed lighting? How does that work? Can it dim?

Just make sure your switches are compatible and you get the correct type. My switches didn't appear to have a common wire so I couldn't install them.

Bought the Lenovo display on Black Friday. Its display stopped working so I've tried to get in contact with Lenovo 3 times and it's the worst thing ever.

That's pretty crappy. I still need to pick up the one I got my parents from the UPS store on Friday. I hope all is well.

Gave a best buy one tonight at a white elephant party. Bought for $25. Someone at the party said "that's way over the limit". If only they knew!

We bit on the $99 home hub +2 free home minis at Target deal last week. The hub is pretty neat, but right now it's mostly used by us as a rotating picture frame. Will be interesting to try to use it for cooking.

On another note - does anyone have a Roku TV and Google Home? I can't figure out the correct voice commands to use to control it.

That was a good deal, but I really want a camera so I'll be sticking with Lenovo.

I think bmyoungs got his working with Roku TV, but will said it was pretty pointless

Yes it's true if you use a sound bar all you can control is power and input select. I much prefer my Harmony hub

good to know, thanks. I have the harmony hub also but I hate how you have to use the activity name in the voice commands to do anything.

I only use my hub to turn on/off "watch tv". I'm a simple man with a few activities.

What activities do you have set up? I only use voice commands for power, volume, play/pause, and occasionally going directly to Netflix.

Yeah if you say "ask Harmony to pause/resume"

I have a "Watch TV" and "Watch Netflix" activity. I think I just need to set up a bunch of shortcuts which makes the commands shorter.
