This is sad. He was a great artist. His solo stuff wasn't super fantastic, but everything else was phenomenal.

When I was a tween / teen in the early 90s my family didn't have cable but we took a lot of road trips. On every trip I would spend as MUCH TIME AS POSSIBLE in the hotel room to watch MTV and VH1. The video that represented the glory of music videos to me was "Black Hole Sun".

Very sad indeed. I haven't seen any new info about cause of death, it just always says "possible suicide".
