What's for lunch?

Postby Kath525 » Thu Jun 29, 2017 11:20 am

I thought it would be a stellar idea to have a thread where we talk about what we are eating for lunch. Honestly I'm surprised there isn't one already. I was already planning on starting this topic yesterday and it just so happens that I forgot my lunch today. My lunch will be whatever I find in my bag- likely a ThinkThin crunchy peanut butter bar. If you haven't tried these before you should. 240 calories: 20 grams of protein, 0 grams of sugar. Tastes good. My favorites are the peanut butter ones. They also have snack size ones that are smaller with lots of great flavors like salted caramel, peppermint and pumpkin spice during the seasons, honey almond, etc. They can be kind of dry and constipate you if you eat too many without plenty of water though so keep that in mind!
They are cheaper than quest bars and you can get them in the health market at hyvee or for a little less money you can get them at wal mart usually next to the condoms and tampons!

WFH today with a sick kid is brought to you by Casey's ham/cheese sub, popcorn chicken, and cookies.

Update: I braved the cafeteria. I got pineapple upside down cake which tastes like this dessert I used to eat in summer day care and is giving me PTSD. I also got "peacan encrusted chicken breast" which sounds gourmet as fuck but it isn't. It's not bad by any means it's just like baked breaded chicken which is also dry.

I had lunch with Corey and one of his coworkers today at Uncle Frankies since they were working at a client not far from my work. Had a Slaw Dog and fries. It was decent.

Is that a chain or a local?

I guess I'm not sure. I know there are a few locations around here but I don't know if they are elsewhere.
Edit: just looked it up, there are 3 locations in the Twin Cities area but nowhere else.

Cornbeef and swiss on a gluten-free rye style bread.
chips
fruit snacks
applesauce with cinnamon.

This is a typical lunch for me.

Evie would be all over this part of your lunch. The only bread she will eat is the breading of chicken nuggets.

By design, not choice. I have celiac's disease and type one diabetes.

I heard! We should start a gluten free topic! Tim and I eat gluten free a lot. Also I am training to be a diabetic educator and I have a lot to learn!

Erin could join if she posted more. She's an RD and works with people who have the beetus quite a bit.
