Breakfast

Postby ejhartman91 » Thu Aug 24, 2017 10:48 am

Hot breakfast made at home:

1. Biscuits and sausage gravy
2. Hashbrowns topped with over-easy eggs and yellow bird sauce https://yellowbirdsauce.com/ (pick your poison) - gotta do the hashbrowns in cast iron skillet
3. Meat (ham or turkey), egg, and cheese (pepper jack) sandwich on english muffin

I've never had that but it sounds really good.

One meal I'll make occasionally is smothered hashbrowns. It's breakfasty, but I'll eat it for other meals sometimes:
Base of hashbrowns topped with grilled onions, green peppers, jalapenos, meat (bacon, ham, or sausage, or a combination of the three) and cheese, then topped again with 2 over easy eggs.

Fun fact - We first discovered this on vacation in Austin, TX. A friend that lives there started eating this instead of Sriracha because he discovered the vast amounts of Sriracha he was consuming was causing him to have bad body odor (he would go through a few bottles a week).
You can buy it online, at Whole Foods, or at various local stores (https://yellowbirdsauce.com/store-locator/). I've only tried the habanero and jalepeno versions, but those are very good.

He's vegan, and he loves spicy stuff. He basically puts hot sauce on everything. And a lot of it.

Wow, I use hot sauce on a lot of stuff but nowhere near "a few" bottles per week. I like Sriracha but I tend to only use it for recipes and I use more habanero/jalapeno/tabasco hot sauces as an "everyday" hot sauce.

thanks, I also really like peanut butter, oats, and milk.

Before this I tried a high fat diet and low carb diet, but my body really didn't like it. So during that, I ate 1 avocado with ground up flaxseed, chile powder, salsa or sour cream.

I also use to have greek yogurt, oats, chia seed & fruit sometimes.

Evie has been having yogurt with granola. She loves it, but it's so messy.
