Holiday season 2017

I stopped at Hy-Vee this morning and notice they had Christmas lights outside and turned on. Did anyone else hang lights over the weekend? Maybe I'll hang mine on Friday, but it's too early to turn them on

Erin wants to hang some but we haven't yet. Definitely too early to have them on.

I agree with you Tyler- too early to turn the lights on. However, it's nice getting them up when it's not too terribly cold. I'd like to do the basic roof trim of lights.

I spent 20 minutes yesterday hanging my single 60ft string of lights. It was the perfect day to do it.

New home owners, maybe sure you plan on the outlet and to have the right end begin/start there.

I put ours up yesterday too. Lights lining the edge of the roof on the front and both sides. I think it's about 150' of lights (x2 75' boxes of lights). Was the first time I have been on my roof, so that was neat.

Woah you got on the roof vs just scooting the ladder every couple of feet? Did you get the clips for the gutters?

I started off just scooting the ladder. Went on the roof for the peak of the garage where the ladder doesn't reach and just decided to do the rest of it from the roof because it was way faster and easier.

Yes.

When are you turning them on? Did you get a timer?

Probably Thanksgiving weekend, I guess. Got a timer that automatically turns them on when it's dark and then keeps them on for 2, 4, or 6 hours or until it's light out again.

Is the man cave the main tv room or just your space? Is that a TV under the clock? Why does it look like a hotdog? Everything looks great!

I would say we probably split upstairs and downstairs tv pretty evenly but I use downstairs more. That's a fireplace thingy under the clock. You can kind of see a few blue flames in the pic.

I thought it looked like a fireplace. House of the future. Does it make heat?

Yeah, you can actually set it like a thermostat to turn on when it gets to a certain temp.
