Getting kind of late in the season, but who wants to do this? As always, spend around $20. I'll pull names out of a hat. Let me know by Sunday.

I'm in.

Instead of secret Santa we could do a white elephant gift game when everyone is here next month. One of those games you play at family Christmases and everyone fights for the gifts.

That's true. I'm game for either but I think white elephant in person would be enjoyable for sure

Ok quick question. Does white elephant for you mean "gag" gifts or gifts people would actually want even if it's silly?

We went to one where we bought a nice gift and everyone else basically brought trash from around their house.

I don't think trash, I think something either useful or something funny?
By definition: The goal of a white elephant party is usually to entertain rather than to gain

I think there have to be some "better" ones that people want to steal/swap. I'll need to look up rules since there are hundreds of ways to do it.

We could use our new laptops as gifts

Lol I don't mind as long as I know going in. I just didn't want to bring something ridiculous and be the only one or only one bringing a normal gift.

I say the crazier the better, but also don't go out spending a lot. I assume Goodwill is where you find the gold.

I think it varies with white elephant? What if you find a stellar gift for cheap at the thrift store? I say just don't spent more than $20, but it's okay to spend less if you think there is a good gift.

I'll probably provide multiple gifts so there are options and in case someone doesn't bring something.
