The Ridgedale mall in Minnetonka still has a Sears. If I want a close parking spot to the mall, I park on the Sears side because nobody goes in there.

Worse news for Toys R Us, they're now planning to close all US locations.

I would imagine so. The article didn't specifically talk about that but I've never seen a stand alone Babies R Us.

Hopefully this means the liquidation prices will be better since they won't have other stores to send their inventory. We have gone into one of the closing Toys R Us stores up here and the stuff we are interested in was only 10% off.

Crazy. 30,000 jobs lost and a lot of empty retail buildings to come

Going to hurt Mattel/Lego quite a bit I heard too. 1/5 of their sales was from toys r us roughly. Also a lot of other smaller toy brands that don't have the shelf spots for them at Target/Walmart will be hurt from this

I guess, but people are still going to want Mattel and Lego products. It might hurt a bit at first but those items are still going to be in just as high demand, so that 1/5 of sales will migrate to other sources.

Sucky for smaller brands though.

We have a standalone babies r us in Des Moines, but it's across a parking lot from Toys R Us
