With the popularity of digital music surging, Best Buy is officially pulling the plug on music CDs, and another retail giant may soon join them. Although CDs remain a relatively popular format worldwide, sales in the U.S. dropped more than 18% last year, prompting Best Buy to drop the format entirely.

I shouldn't be surprised, but I kind of am. Best Buy use to be the main place some people (Wallinga/Danny/Dan) went to get CDs and DVDs

Not surprised. Their movie and cd selection was getting smaller each time I visited a Best Buy. I haven't been in one in a few years.

If I do buy cds now, it's second hand. I rarely buy movies unless it's something I really want to see, even then I usually wait until it's on sale. Same with video games.

This reminds me, there's a CD/album shop next to the gym I go to. I always am amazed that it survives.

It's obviously just a front for the cartel.

Some best buys I've been too seem to be getting a lot more into appliances and kitchen stuff.

With Sears going down that makes sense. That's the only reason most people went to Sears

Actually a good idea. We bought our washer/dryer, and all kitchen appliances years ago from BB
